Micro-sensor Human Motion Capture Project Successfully Passed National Natural Science Foundation Mid-term Evaluation
2011/11/28
The project of Theory and Methodology for Human Motion Capture using Micro-sensors( No.60932001), supported by National Natural Science Foundation, successfully passed the mid-term evaluation on Dec. 20, 2011. SNARC is the organization in charge for this project; our cooperating organization is Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Science. The project funding is 2.2 million RMB. In the mid-term evaluation, we presented our research results in both theory and application to the academic committees. We had made breakthroughs in multi-sensors data fusion algorithms and human modeling methods. Improvements had also been made in the estimation of human displacements using micro-sensors. Meanwhile, SNARC had developed the first micro-sensor human motion capture system in China. The system has the potential to be used in animation production and digital intelligent human rehabilitation. The mid-term evaluation presentation impressed the experts and received approval.
